A dynamic opportunity is available for a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide expert respiratory care across a premier tertiary, teaching, and Level 1 trauma hospital setting. Serving a diverse patient population in acute, critical, pediatric, and neonatal intensive care units, this role demands a committed professional with a broad skill set and adaptability.

Responsibilities include managing respiratory therapy interventions for patients across various units, supporting a newly opened Surgical ICU and expanded Intermediate Care units, and collaborating within a team of respiratory therapists to deliver high-quality care. Experience with advanced ventilator equipment such as Drager V500/VN500, Hamilton T-series, Respironics devices, and the use of EPIC for electronic medical records will be essential. Flexibility to float across specialized areas including NICU, PICU, ED, and adult acute/critical care is required.

Candidate qualifications are as follows:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required.
  • A minimum of three years of respiratory therapy experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required for NICU float.
  • Previous experience at a teaching hospital or tertiary care center with level 1 trauma designation.
  • Preferred experience in NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic care.
  • Excellent communication skills, flexibility, and ability to work well within a team environment.

Location: Situated in Brunswick, ME, this opportunity provides access to a vibrant community known for its scenic coastal beauty, rich maritime history, and a welcoming atmosphere with abundant outdoor recreation including hiking, boating, and cultural events.

Schedule:

  • 3x12 hour night shifts.
  • Shift hours 7 PM – 7:30 AM with weekend coverage expectations.
  • Call requirement 2 hours prior to the oncoming shift.
