Step into a dynamic respiratory care role at a renowned pediatric trauma and teaching hospital specializing in both neonatal and pediatric populations. You’ll have the opportunity to make a direct impact in a clinical environment with advanced resources, including a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and certified stroke and chest pain care. This contract opportunity offers a 12-hour night shift schedule (7:00pm – 7:00am), working 36 hours per week, and includes an every-other-weekend rotation. Schedules operate in six-week cycles, and respiratory therapists are scheduled to cover 75% of holidays, with up to six days of requested time off possible (excluding holidays).

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Active NC licensure as RRT or CRT
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in respiratory therapy, including experience with IPPV/NIPPV ventilators
  • Strong clinical skills with neonate, pediatric, and occasional adult populations in areas such as ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and general medical floors
  • EPIC EMR proficiency preferred
  • Willingness to collaborate with respiratory leadership and interdisciplinary teams
  • Traveler’s permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive respiratory care to a diverse patient base across all units, with specialization in neonate and pediatric care
  • Operate and maintain advanced ventilator equipment (IPPV/NIPPV)
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver the highest standards of care
  • Adhere to unit safety protocols and policies
  • Support a culture of education, teamwork, and compassion
