Respiratory Therapist | Charlotte, North Carolina

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join a dynamic pediatric hospital environment on a contract basis. This pivotal role focuses on providing specialized respiratory care to neonate, pediatric, and occasionally adult patients within a comprehensive Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour night shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (36 hours/week)
• Every other weekend rotation
• No call required
• Required to work 75% of holidays
• Schedule cycles every 6 weeks

Key Qualifications:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
• Active NC licensure
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in respiratory therapy, specifically resource team settings
• Strong proficiency with IPPV/NIPPV ventilators; experience across ED, PICU, Pediatric CVICU, and Pediatric PCU units
• Comfort working with a variety of patient ages and diagnoses
• EPIC EMR proficiency preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory care throughout the hospital, with a focus on neonate and pediatric patients
• Administer and monitor ventilator therapy (IPPV/NIPPV) and respiratory interventions as indicated
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation in the EMR system
• Participate in scheduled orientation and ongoing departmental education
