Qualifications and Experience:
- Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Proven experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or acute care setting
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Credentials from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Ability to effectively operate ventilators, nebulizers, and related respiratory equipment
- BLS and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to react quickly in emergencies
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments and administer prescribed respiratory therapy interventions
- Manage mechanical ventilators, oxygen therapy, and related respiratory equipment
- Monitor, document, and communicate patient progress with interdisciplinary team
- Conduct arterial blood gas analysis and interpret results to support clinical decisions
- Provide education to patients and families regarding respiratory health and equipment use
- Participate actively in emergency response situations, including code blue procedures
- Comply with infection control and safety protocols at all times
