Registered Respiratory Therapist in Chatham, IL

Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Valid, active state licensure
• Demonstrated clinical experience in acute or sub-acute patient care environments
• Advanced knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment and procedures
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication and patient education skills
• Capacity to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer therapeutic procedures such as oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation
• Monitor patient responses to respiratory treatments and adjust care plans as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other care providers to develop comprehensive care plans
• Perform diagnostic tests, including arterial blood gases (ABGs) and pulmonary function tests
• Carefully document treatments, progress notes, and equipment settings in the electronic health record
• Uphold strict infection control guidelines and safety standards
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment use, disease management, and health maintenance
