Advance your clinical expertise as a Respiratory Therapist in a dynamic children’s hospital setting. This contract opportunity offers the chance to care for a wide patient population and participate in a collaborative, resource-rich environment.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:00)
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation
- Required to work 75% of holidays
- No on-call responsibilities
- Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
- Floating to other facilities not required
Qualifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with current North Carolina licensure
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (Resource Team requirements)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in respiratory therapy, including use of IPPV/NIPPV ventilators in settings such as ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and general medical floors
- Experience with neonate, pediatric, and adult patients preferred
- Previous hospital experience on a resource/float team highly valued
- First-time travelers accepted
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care for neonate, pediatric, and adult patients throughout the facility
- Assess, plan, and implement therapy interventions in line with hospital protocols
- Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and other respiratory equipment (department-specific)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including respiratory leadership and clinical staff
- Support teaching hospital initiatives and follow evidence-based practices
- Utilize EPIC for electronic documentation
