Seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality respiratory care in a dynamic pediatric teaching hospital. This contract opportunity focuses on supporting a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and caring for a diverse patient population, from neonates to adults as needed. You’ll work within a resourceful team supported by experienced respiratory leadership.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm – 7:00 am), 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation
- No call required
- Expectation to work 75% of holidays
- Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist on a resource team
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Current NC respiratory license
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- Experience with IPPV/NIPPV ventilators and patient care within ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and General Med Floors
- EMR proficiency with EPIC
- Open to first-time contract travelers
- Must maintain a permanent residence at least 50 miles from the facility
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care throughout the pediatric and adult units within the facility
- Administer, monitor, and document therapy in alignment with hospital protocols
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Utilize specialized technology and department-specific equipment
- Participate in mandatory orientation and departmental training
- Comply with department standards, including dress code (royal blue scrubs)
