Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Valid respiratory care practitioner license
  • Proven experience delivering respiratory care in acute or sub-acute settings
  • Proficient in administering, monitoring, and adjusting respiratory therapy modalities
  • Strong interpersonal communication and patient education skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage varying patient needs efficiently
  • BLS certification (additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP are a plus)

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients of varying acuity
  • Provide therapeutic modalities, such as oxygen therapy, ventilator management, airway clearance procedures, and aerosol medication administration
  • Perform diagnostic tests including arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function testing
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and nursing staff, to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Manage and maintain respiratory equipment to the highest safety and hygiene standards
  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and progress in electronic health records
  • Respond promptly and effectively to respiratory emergencies
