Qualifications:
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Valid respiratory care practitioner license
- Proven experience delivering respiratory care in acute or sub-acute settings
- Proficient in administering, monitoring, and adjusting respiratory therapy modalities
- Strong interpersonal communication and patient education skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage varying patient needs efficiently
- BLS certification (additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP are a plus)
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients of varying acuity
- Provide therapeutic modalities, such as oxygen therapy, ventilator management, airway clearance procedures, and aerosol medication administration
- Perform diagnostic tests including arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function testing
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and nursing staff, to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Manage and maintain respiratory equipment to the highest safety and hygiene standards
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and progress in electronic health records
- Respond promptly and effectively to respiratory emergencies
