Respiratory Therapist | Dearborn, Michigan

As a skilled Respiratory Therapist, you play a vital role in providing advanced respiratory care to patients in a hospital environment. This contract opportunity involves working collaboratively under the guidance of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor to support both Intensive Care and General Practice Units. You will perform a variety of life-support functions, resuscitation procedures, medical gas therapies, as well as both invasive and non-invasive diagnostics, ensuring comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Previous experience as a Respiratory Therapist in acute care or hospital settings preferred
• Strong communication skills to interact with patients, multidisciplinary team members, and physicians
• Ability to supervise, direct, and delegate to other therapists, externs, or students
• Solid clinical judgment and capability to maintain composure in critical care settings

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver life-support and monitoring to patients in need of respiratory intervention
• Administer various medical gases and perform procedures as prescribed
• Conduct clinical diagnostic testing (invasive and non-invasive) and monitor patient responses
• Accurately document patient care activities and complete appropriate billing records
• Rotate across multiple business units or departments as assigned, maintaining clinical proficiency
• Provide supervision, guidance, and orientation to other respiratory personnel and students
• Communicate effectively regarding patient care requirements and collaborate on care plans
