Respiratory Therapist | Franklin, Virginia

Leveraging your expertise as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will collaborate with medical teams to assess, treat, and care for patients experiencing cardiopulmonary disorders.

Key Qualifications:

• Active license as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Proven clinical experience in respiratory therapy, preferably within hospitals or acute care settings
• Proficient in performing and interpreting arterial blood gases, administering therapeutic treatments, and managing ventilatory support
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS preferred

Schedule:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform patient assessments and develop appropriate care plans for those with respiratory distress
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and other respiratory treatments as prescribed
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, including ventilators
• Monitor patient progress, report changes to physicians, and document therapies in medical records
• Educate patients and families on best practices for respiratory health and equipment usage
