Step into a dynamic environment providing respiratory care within a state-of-the-art pediatric trauma and teaching hospital. This contract position requires a Registered Respiratory Therapist to deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy services throughout the hospital, including neonatal, pediatric, and, as needed, adult patient populations.

Schedule & Hours:

  • 12-hour night shifts (generally 7:00 pm – 7:00 am)
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
  • Schedule cycle is every 6 weeks; up to 6 RTO days (excluding holidays) approved

Qualifications:

  • Valid RRT or CRT credential
  • Current North Carolina Respiratory Care license
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
  • At least 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy, including exposure to resource teams and ventilator management (IPPV/NIPPV)
  • Experience supporting patients across ED, PICU, pediatric CVICU, pediatric PCU, and general med floors
  • Comfortable with Epic EMR and department-specific equipment

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality respiratory care to all age groups, primarily neonate and pediatric patients
  • Provide interventions and manage ventilator support including both invasive and noninvasive methods
  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team and respiratory department leadership
  • Adhere to protocols for orientation (NEO) and department onboarding
  • Maintain professional standards, including required uniform of royal blue scrubs
