Registered Respiratory Therapist in Hartford, CT

Schedule/Hours:

• 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. shifts
• Every other weekend required

Qualifications:

• Current Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials
• Active BLS certification required
• NRP certification preferred
• Strong clinical skills in both acute and chronic respiratory care settings
• Excellent critical thinking and communication skills
• Previous hospital or clinical experience as a respiratory therapist is highly desirable

Responsibilities:

• Administer all types of respiratory therapy procedures and modalities to patients of varying acuity
• Monitor patient progress, response to therapy, and adjust treatments as directed by physician protocols
• Perform diagnostic tests, including respiratory assessments and blood gas analysis
• Educate patients and their families on respiratory care plans, device usage, and overall lung health
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, effective care
• Document therapies, assessments, and patient interactions in accordance with organizational policies
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and infection control protocols
