Registered Respiratory Therapist in Hartford, CT

Schedule:

• Night shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Every other weekend required

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred
• Previous acute care or hospital-based respiratory therapy experience is a plus
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages in accordance with established protocols and best practices
• Conduct assessments, administer treatments, and operate a variety of respiratory equipment
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans
• Monitor patient status, document interventions, and report changes in condition promptly
• Provide patient and family education regarding disease management and respiratory therapies
• Respond rapidly to emergency situations, demonstrating calm and competence in critical moments
