Step into a critical care environment providing expert respiratory therapy at a leading pediatric trauma center and teaching hospital with 247 licensed beds. This is a contract opportunity for experienced Respiratory Therapists and Registered Respiratory Therapists committed to delivering care across neonate, pediatric, and, when needed, adult populations.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:00), 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend rotation
  • No on-call or call-back requirements
  • Expected to work 75% of holidays

Qualifications:

  • Valid NC Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in respiratory therapy, including IPPV/NIPPV ventilator management
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP required
  • Prior work in settings such as the ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and general medical floors
  • Open to first-time travelers
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the home unit

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver advanced respiratory care to neonates, pediatric, and sometimes adult patients throughout the hospital
  • Manage a diverse caseload with common diagnoses seen in a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center
  • Utilize EPIC for electronic medical records and specialized ventilatory equipment
  • Collaborate with dedicated respiratory leadership and multidisciplinary colleagues
  • Engage in unit orientation and continual skill advancement

Additional Role Details:

  • No floating to other facilities
  • Department orientation provided; ongoing support from experienced leadership
  • Dress code: Royal blue scrubs
  • Free parking onsite
