A healthcare facility seeks an experienced and credentialed respiratory therapist to support respiratory therapy services on a contract basis. This position involves working a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (36 hours/week), with an every-other-weekend rotation and participation in 75% of holidays as part of the extended team.

Qualifications & Desired Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • NC Respiratory Therapy License in good standing
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (Resource Team requirements)
  • Proficiency in critical care, CVICU, NICU (no pediatric), ED, progressive care, and all floor therapies
  • Comfortable with adult and NICU populations
  • Familiarity with EPIC EMR and a variety of respiratory therapy equipment, including Servo ventilators, Trilogy, ResMed AirCurve, HiFlow, Airvo, NOXbox, and bubble CPAP

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective respiratory care to a high-volume patient population (average 300+ daily)
  • Float within designated facilities in Region 2 as needed (including various hospitals and freestanding EDs)
  • Demonstrate flexibility with floating between locations mid-shift; compensation provided for travel time
  • Participate in thorough departmental and facility orientation
  • Collaborate closely with department leadership and peers, upholding a culture built on teamwork and strong values
