Work as a valued member of a specialized Respiratory Care team providing patient-focused care in a high-acuity environment. This contract opportunity involves supporting a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center with 247 licensed beds and additional certifications as a Chest Pain and Stroke Center, offering a dynamic and collaborative workplace.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour night shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Expect to work 75% of holidays
  • Schedule cycle repeats every 6 weeks

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapy (CRT) with active North Carolina licensure
  • Minimum 2 years of professional respiratory therapy experience, including work with IPPV/NIPPV ventilator systems
  • Experience with neonate, pediatric, and adult patient populations across multiple hospital departments (ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, General Medicine)
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
  • Comfort using EPIC EMR and the ability to adapt to unit-specific technology
  • Resourceful and collaborative, ready to partner with respiratory leadership and other clinical teams

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive respiratory care for a broad range of patients, with the primary focus on neonatal and pediatric cases, and adult patients as needed
  • Adhere to unit standards and participate in orientation/training as required (2-day departmental, plus facility orientation)
  • Maintain high standards in ventilator management and related respiratory interventions
  • Consistently uphold patient safety and contribute to ongoing team education and process improvements
  • Adhere to shift, holiday, and weekend scheduling commitments
  • Remain within the home facility without being floated elsewhere
