Registered Respiratory Therapist in Huntersville, NC

Embark on a rewarding assignment providing specialized respiratory care in a premier pediatric and teaching hospital equipped with 247 licensed beds and designated as a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. This contract role is ideal for a knowledgeable Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist ready to deliver critical care across Neonate, Pediatric, and Adult populations.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour night shifts (1900-0700)
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 75% of holidays worked
• 6-week schedule cycle

Qualifications:

• Active NC Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT)
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (Resource Team requirements)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Respiratory Therapist in acute care settings, including ventilator management (IPPV/NIPPV)
• Experience in ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and Gen Med floors
• Familiarity with Epic EMR
• Meets radius rule: home address must be at least 50 miles from the unit
• First-time travelers welcome

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, and, as needed, adult patients throughout the hospital
• Employ expertise in ventilation strategies and operate department-specific ventilators
• Collaborate closely with a dedicated respiratory leadership team
• Support a high-acuity patient population in a resource team model
• Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation expectations
• Participate in orientation, including NEO and 2-day departmental onboarding
