Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and implement respiratory care to patients of varying acuity.
- Administer therapies including oxygen, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy in accordance with physician orders.
- Monitor and evaluate patient response to treatment; modify care plans as needed.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP devices.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding respiratory illnesses and therapies.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
Qualifications & Desired Background:
- Valid certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Active state license or eligibility for licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Previous experience as a Respiratory Therapist, ideally in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining professional and technical knowledge.
