Seeking a dedicated professional to fill a contract role as a Registered Respiratory Therapist specializing in critical care. This opportunity features a night shift schedule, offering 36 hours per week over a 13-week period. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise and demonstrate comfort in high-acuity, fast-paced environments.
Schedule:
- Night shifts
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week engagement
Qualifications:
- Active NBRC RRT certification
- Valid and current NYS Respiratory Therapist License
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proven experience in critical care and NICU settings
- Proficiency with V60 BiPAP and 980 Puritan Bennett ventilators
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records
- Prior participation in external patient transports is required
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care to adult and neonatal critical care populations
- Operate advanced respiratory equipment, including non-invasive and invasive ventilation systems
- Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in EPIC
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for effective patient management
- Safely accompany and manage patients during external transports while maintaining respiratory stability
- Provide timely interventions in emergency and high-pressure situations as needed
