Strengthen your career in respiratory care with a contract role focusing on critical and neonatal intensive care skills. This position requires a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist or Respiratory Therapist, adept in high-acuity environments and skilled with advanced ventilator technology. You will work a night schedule, with 36 hours each week and alternating weekends, over a 13-week period.

Qualifications

  • Current credentials as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Demonstrated experience in critical care and NICU settings
  • Proficiency with V60 BiPAP and 980 Puritan Bennett ventilators
  • Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records
  • Experience with external patient transport
  • Certification in Adult, Pediatric, and Neonatal BLS
  • Precise documentation and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Administer a full range of respiratory therapy procedures as prescribed and directed
  • Deliver treatments such as Aerosol Therapy, CPT/Flutter, Incentive Spirometry, and M.D.I. therapy
  • Conduct specialized therapies including secretion mobilization, oxygen, BiPAP-CPAP, High Flow Cannula, Cough Assist/Vest, and Mechanical Ventilation management
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests: Pulmonary Function Screens, EKGs, Arterial Blood Gas Analysis
  • Ensure safe and effective use of oxygen tanks and all therapeutic devices
  • Complete critical documentation in Soarian, MAK, and McKesson systems
  • Review physician orders and participate in pulmonary and cardiology procedures
  • Maintain records and uphold departmental standards and quality control
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to in-service training
  • Support patient care during external transports as needed
