Respiratory Therapist | Johnson City, New York

This contract role for a Registered Respiratory Therapist requires a compassionate and knowledgeable healthcare professional with experience in critical care and neonatal intensive care. You’ll join a dynamic department dedicated to providing timely, accurate, and reliable respiratory therapy services for a diverse patient population, including inpatients, outpatients, staff, and community groups.

Schedule:

• Nights
• Every other weekend required
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week assignment

Qualifications & Experience:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential
• Critical care and NICU experience required
• Proficiency with V60 BiPAP and 980 Puritan Bennett ventilators
• Previous experience with EPIC documentation
• Ability to participate in external patient transport
• Current BLS certification for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate and monitor respiratory therapy procedures as directed
• Provide aerosol, CPT/Flutter/PEP Mask, and incentive spirometry therapies
• Manage BiPAP-CPAP, high-flow cannula, and mechanical ventilation, including alarm troubleshooting
• Conduct respiratory diagnostics: EKGs, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function screens, and arterial blood sampling
• Perform oxygen therapy, MDI therapy, and secretion mobilization techniques
• Ensure accurate documentation, verification of orders, and reporting of results
• Abide by departmental delivery standards and maintain policy-compliant records
• Participate in in-service programs and quality control activities
• Support and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient transports

$2,106 - $2,304/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
