Respiratory Therapist | Johnson City, New York

Utilize your expertise as a Registered Respiratory Therapist to make a significant difference in patient care on a contract basis. This role is ideal for professionals skilled in delivering comprehensive respiratory therapy services across inpatient, outpatient, and specialty settings including critical care and NICU environments.

Schedule & Hours:

• Night shifts
• Every other weekend required
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Qualifications & Experience:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• Experience in critical care and NICU settings a must
• Proficiency operating V60 BiPAP, Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators
• Skilled with EPIC documentation systems
• Capability to participate in external patient transports
• BLS certified for adults, pediatrics, and neonates
• Previous experience with aerosol therapies and mechanical ventilation

Primary Responsibilities:

• Administer respiratory therapy as directed, including aerosol therapy, pulmonary function screening, and secretion mobilization techniques
• Manage advanced respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, high flow cannula/humidifiers, and ventilators
• Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as EKGs, arterial punctures, and blood gas analysis
• Ensure proper oxygen therapy and tank safety protocols
• Accurately document and communicate procedure outcomes using healthcare systems like Soarian and EPIC
• Assist with medication administration and dispensing using prescribed digital programs
• Support the department’s in-service education and contribute to maintaining compliance with delivery standards
• Participate in timely, safe, and efficient patient transport as needed

$2,211 - $2,419/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
