Registered Respiratory Therapist in Lakewood, OH

An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Respiratory Therapist with strong clinical skills to provide top-quality care in an acute hospital environment. This contract role is well-suited for professionals who are experienced in delivering respiratory therapy and committed to patient-centered service.

Schedule:

• 13-week contract
• Night shifts: 3 shifts per week, 6:00pm – 6:30am
• On-call coverage: 4 nights during every six-week schedule

Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Respiratory Therapist with registration (RRT)
• Valid Ohio state license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist
• Active BLS certification required
• Previous acute care or hospital experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to make quick, accurate clinical assessments

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and implement respiratory care for patients as ordered by physicians
• Administer therapeutic procedures, such as oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and mechanical ventilation support
• Monitor and record patient progress and modify therapy based on assessment data and medical direction
• Respond promptly to code situations and emergency respiratory needs
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and their families regarding respiratory care and disease management
• Take part in on-call duties as scheduled to cover additional units
