Respiratory Therapist | Lakewood, Ohio

In this contract role, you will play a vital role in assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders under the supervision of physicians and in collaboration with the clinical team.

Schedule:

• Evenings, 32 hours per week
• 3:00pm–11:30pm
• Every other weekend and holiday required

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid license as a Respiratory Therapist
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Previous experience in acute or critical care settings strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including mechanical ventilation, airway management, and oxygen therapy
• Assess patient status and modify respiratory care plans based on physician orders and patient response
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients with respiratory conditions
• Document all care provided and changes in patient status in the medical record accurately and promptly
• Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and equipment use
• Respond to emergency codes and provide rapid respiratory interventions as needed
