A well-established hospital in Southwestern Georgia is seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join the team for a 17-week contract. You'll be working 7p-7a shifts, primarily in ICU and ER settings, providing expert care to a diverse patient population from pediatrics through adults.
Schedule:
- Night shifts, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
- Work on either a Monday–Thursday or Friday–Sunday team (hours specified in advance)
- Holidays are rotated in with permanent staff; expect to work every other holiday
Qualifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Active Georgia state respiratory therapy license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (NRP required if covering NICU)
- Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, including 1 completed travel contract
- At least 1 year in a 300+ bed facility; critical care experience essential
- Strict 75-mile radius rule applies
- Strong comfort level with intubating patients and high, heavy workloads
- Recent experience in ICU/ER preferred
- Must be able to work ventilators (Servo U and I models), perform ABG collection, manage airways, and participate in emergency response
- Proficiency in Meditech EMR
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a full spectrum of respiratory therapy, including nebs, airway management, vapotherm, BiPAP, CPAP, ventilator management, and bronchs
- Serve as primary intubator during codes until hospitalist or intensivist arrives
- Manage 13-15 patients per shift, averaging 550 treatment minutes per night
- Conduct and interpret bedside PFTs, blood gases, and participate in vent rounds
- Floating between adult, pediatric, and occasionally NICU patients (as assigned)
- Participate in structured floor and ICU orientation

- Scrub color: Ceil blue (with matching jacket)
- Charge and clinical coordinator oversight present on shift
- No call required
