Key Qualifications:
- Current license as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Proven clinical experience in acute or critical care settings
- Strong proficiency with respiratory equipment, ventilators, and therapeutic modalities
- Effective communication, assessment, and documentation skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient care needs and acuity levels
- Compliance with all local and federal health regulations and protocols
Essential Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed respiratory care procedures and treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medication delivery, chest physiotherapy, and airway management
- Operate and monitor ventilators and other life support equipment
- Conduct patient assessments, evaluate response to therapy, and adjust interventions as needed
- Respond efficiently to code blue and rapid response situations, providing emergency airway management
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing, and the broader healthcare team to create individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic medical records
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory therapies and health management strategies
