Qualifications:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Thorough understanding of advanced respiratory care techniques and protocols
• Proficiency in diagnostic testing, including obtaining arterial blood gases
• Proven ability to oversee and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment
• Strong collaboration skills with clinical teams
• Commitment to patient and family education on self-care and wellness
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Flexibility to respond to dynamic patient care needs, including on-call responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic respiratory procedures following clinical protocols
• Administer medications safely and evaluate effectiveness, documenting all interventions
• Assess and communicate patient conditions, making appropriate recommendations for individualized care
• Educate patients and families in respiratory therapies and wellness practices
• Complete accurate records and productivity documentation in line with departmental standards
• Monitor supplies, report equipment problems or shortages promptly
• Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and departmental meetings
• Mentor, consult, and develop fellow staff members and contribute to professional standards
• Float to additional departments as needed based on clinical requirements
• Support research activities and efforts to improve patient outcomes
