Join a dynamic pediatric teaching hospital as a Registered Respiratory Therapist on a contract basis, supporting a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center with 247 licensed beds. You’ll be a vital member of a dedicated respiratory care team, serving neonate and pediatric patients, and providing support for adults as needed within the facility.
Schedule & Shift Details:
- 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation
- No on-call requirements
- Travel clinicians should be prepared to work 75% of holidays
- Schedule cycles every 6 weeks
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience, ideally with resource or float team exposure
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with active NC licensure
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
- Proficiency with ventilators (IPPV/NIPPV), and experience in clinical environments such as ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, or general medical floors
- First-time travelers welcome
- Must meet the 50-mile radius rule for travel assignment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care to a diverse patient population, including neonates, pediatrics, and occasionally adults
- Collaborate closely with Respiratory Leadership and multidisciplinary teams
- Use EPIC EMR and specialized respiratory care equipment (specifics reviewed in interview)
- Maintain standards consistent with a Chest Pain Center and Certified Stroke Center environment
- Comply with department protocols, including royal blue scrubs and free onsite parking
