Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Prior experience in acute care or hospital environments preferred
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing patient needs and fast-paced situations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments and protocols as ordered by physicians
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to therapy, making recommendations for modifications as needed
  • Operate and maintain respiratory therapy equipment, including ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and suction devices
  • Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analyses and interpret results for optimal care decisions
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory health, equipment usage, and discharge planning
  • Document all assessments, treatments, and patient progress accurately in electronic medical records
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other allied health professionals
