Respiratory Therapist | New Britain, Connecticut

Deliver expert respiratory care in a dynamic hospital environment, providing essential assessment and therapeutic interventions. This contract opportunity is ideal for a skilled Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist seeking to contribute to patient care and collaborate within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Schedule:

• 7:00 pm – 7:30 am shifts
• Every other weekend required

Desired Qualifications:

• Current credentials as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification highly preferred
• Experience delivering respiratory therapy in acute care settings is advantageous
• Ability to assess, monitor, and record patient responses to therapy
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate assessments and deliver respiratory therapies according to provider orders
• Administer oxygen, aerosol, and medication therapies safely and competently
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot ventilators and other respiratory care equipment
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient progress thoroughly and accurately
• Provide patient and family education on respiratory management and equipment
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other care professionals to optimize patient outcomes
• Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations as needed
