Registered Respiratory Therapist in New Paltz, NY

Desired Qualifications:

• Active license as a Respiratory Therapist (RT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
• Recent experience delivering respiratory care to a diverse patient population
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures per physician orders
• Monitor and assess patients receiving ventilatory support or oxygen therapy
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including arterial blood gas analysis, spirometry, and airway management
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and therapies
• Document care provided in accordance with facility protocols and regulatory requirements
• Respond promptly to patient needs in emergent and non-emergent situations
• Maintain equipment, ensuring proper sterilization and functionality
