Respiratory Therapist | Owego, New York

Take the next step in your Respiratory Therapy career with a dynamic contract role working nights and every other weekend (36 hours per week, 13-week assignment). This position ensures timely and accurate respiratory therapy for inpatients, outpatients, staff, and community groups. In this setting, you will provide expert care to a diverse patient population and participate in external patient transports.

Required Qualifications:

• Active credentials as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Prior experience in critical care and with NICU patients
• Proficiency working with V60 BiPAP and Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators
• Experience with EPIC
• Ability to participate in external patient transports
• BLS certification (Adult, Pediatric, and Neonatal)

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer a range of respiratory therapy procedures, including aerosol, CPT/Flutter/PEP Mask, and incentive spirometry therapies
• Perform secretion mobilization, M.D.I. therapy, and suctioning procedures
• Manage oxygen therapy and tank safety, BiPAP/CPAP therapy, high flow cannula/humidifiers, ventilators, and related alarms
• Conduct diagnostic procedures such as Pulmonary Function Screens, EKGs, pulse oximetry, and fit testing
• Perform arterial puncture and analysis for blood gas laboratory, and manage quality control
• Operate and maintain patient healthcare information systems and medication administration programs
• Record and report procedure results, keep accurate departmental records, and uphold delivery standards
• Engage in departmental in-service programs and assist with other duties as assigned

$2,211 - $2,419/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
