Respiratory Therapist | Pike Road, Alabama

Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a respiratory care professional in a hospital environment, providing vital therapy to diverse patients across all units. This contract role is available for either 36 or 48 hours per week, with shift options designed to fit a variety of schedules.

Schedule/Hours

• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm start)
• 36 or 48-hour contract options
• Every other weekend rotation
• Voluntary on-call shifts

Qualifications and Experience

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with minimum 2 years’ experience accepted
• BLS certification required; ACLS/APLS preferred
• Experience with Cerner or EPIC (EMR) systems required for travelers
• First-time travelers welcome with at least 2 years’ experience
• Strong skills in adult general and critical care environments

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory therapy services for adult patients in general and critical care settings
• Float as needed to any similar unit or patient location within the hospital
• Efficiently utilize technology including Cerner EMR, Omnicell for medication dispensing, Spacelabs monitors, and a variety of ventilators (PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, Airvo)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care
• Participate in comprehensive orientation (24 hours classroom, 24 hours on-unit) for those new or returning after a year’s absence
