Step into a vital role as a Respiratory Therapist, where your specialized skills will support both pediatric and adult critical care environments in a leading teaching hospital. This 13-week contract offers the chance to contribute in the Pediatric Emergency Department, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and adult Level I trauma settings, caring for a diverse patient population.
Schedule:
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, on nights (specific days to be discussed during the interview)
Key Qualifications:
- Current registration as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Active Rhode Island state license
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
- Recent experience in Pediatric care, including Pediatric Emergency Department and intensive care settings
- Prior work in Level I adult and pediatric trauma centers highly desired
- Experience in teaching hospital environments strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to fast-paced critical care units and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to pediatric and adult patients in emergency and intensive care units
- Respond efficiently to trauma, critical illness, and respiratory distress situations
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized respiratory care plans
- Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies, equipment, and self-care
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to optimize patient care outcomes
