Registered Respiratory Therapist in Sherman, IL

Key Qualifications:

• Current credentials as a Respiratory Therapist (RT), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
• Valid state licensure as required
• Proficiency in performing respiratory treatments, assessments, and interventions
• Experience operating ventilators, oxygen therapy equipment, and administering aerosol medications
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to interact with medical teams and patients
• Knowledge of infection control and clinical safety standards
• BLS certification (required); ACLS preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe and effective respiratory care treatments to patients of varying acuity
• Assess and monitor patient respiratory status, documenting findings and progress
• Implement physician-ordered therapies, including mechanical ventilation management
• Educate patients and family members on disease management and equipment use
• Maintain accurate documentation in patient medical records
• Participate in care coordination and interdisciplinary rounds as appropriate
• Respond promptly to emergency and rapid response situations
• Ensure proper cleaning, maintenance, and operation of respiratory therapy equipment
