Qualifications:

  • Current certification or registration as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT)
  • Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program
  • Active state licensure as required
  • Demonstrated experience in acute care or clinical settings preferred
  • Proficiency in respiratory assessments, treatments, and equipment
  • Effective communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract assignment with variable shifts; flexibility to accommodate night, weekend, or holiday coverage as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and document patient respiratory status, performing comprehensive evaluations
  • Administer therapeutic procedures including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation
  • Monitor and adjust respiratory equipment according to physician’s orders and patient response
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Educate patients and families regarding respiratory treatments, medications, and home care strategies
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulations
  • Adhere to infection control procedures and safety protocols at all times
