Deliver critical respiratory care as a dedicated professional in this contract opportunity for an experienced Respiratory Therapist. You will play a vital role in patient recovery, collaborating with healthcare teams to provide therapy and monitoring for individuals with pulmonary disorders. This role demands expertise, compassion, and a strong attention to detail to ensure top-quality care and optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, with registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program
  • Proven experience delivering various forms of respiratory care (including ventilation management, bronchial hygiene, and oxygen therapy)
  • Strong knowledge of pulmonary diagnostics, blood gas collection and analysis, and airway management protocols
  • Ability to interpret physicians' orders and adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and implement appropriate respiratory therapy for patients with acute and chronic conditions
  • Administer treatments such as aerosols, chest physiotherapy, and airway clearance techniques
  • Monitor and document patient response to therapy, adjusting interventions based on ongoing evaluations
  • Assist with intubations, manage ventilators, and provide emergency respiratory care as needed
  • Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions, equipment use, and at-home care strategies
  • Ensure all respiratory therapy equipment is maintained, calibrated, and in compliance with safety regulations
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute clinical expertise to collaborative care planning
