Registered Respiratory Therapist in Tarboro, NC

Qualifications/Experience:

• Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
• Demonstrated competency in performing respiratory assessments, therapy modalities, and associated procedures
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Previous experience in an acute care or hospital setting is strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and implement respiratory care treatments based on physician orders and patient needs
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, bronchodilator therapy, and chest physiotherapy
• Monitor and operate mechanical ventilators, ensuring proper patient-ventilator interaction and function
• Respond promptly to emergency calls such as code blue events, providing immediate respiratory care interventions
• Educate patients and families on disease management, equipment use, and home care instructions when applicable
• Maintain accurate documentation for all assessments, interventions, and progress notes following facility policies
