Qualifications and Experience:
- Current credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Valid respiratory therapy license as required by the state
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge and skill in administering respiratory treatments and monitoring patient progress
- Experience with ventilators, oxygen therapy, and other advanced respiratory modalities
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and deliver respiratory care and therapeutic interventions for patients as ordered by physicians
- Perform diagnostic procedures, such as arterial blood gases, spirometry, and pulmonary function testing
- Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation, airway care, and emergency respiratory interventions
- Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses according to hospital protocols and regulatory standards
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on respiratory health management and equipment use
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and troubleshoot issues as needed
