Respiratory Therapist | Vestal, New York

Step into a vital clinical role providing exceptional respiratory therapy services to a diverse patient population. This contract position calls for a skilled Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist, equipped to deliver high-level care in a collaborative hospital environment.

Schedule:

• Night shifts
• Every other weekend
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week assignment

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT)
• Critical care and NICU experience is essential
• Proficiency with V60 BiPAP, 980 Puritan Bennett Ventilators, and EPIC software
• Capable of safely handling external patient transports
• Current BLS certification (Adult, Pediatric, Neonatal)

Key Responsibilities:

• Administering prescribed respiratory care treatments including aerosol, CPT/PEP Mask, MDI, suctioning, and incentive spirometry
• Managing BiPAP-CPAP therapy, high flow nasal cannula, humidifiers, and ventilator alarms
• Overseeing oxygen tank safety and performing oxygen therapy across all approved devices
• Providing pulmonary function screening, pulse oximetry, and both adult and pediatric EKGs
• Conducting and analyzing arterial blood gases, as well as maintaining quality control in the blood gas lab
• Recording all procedures accurately and ensuring compliance with department practices and standard operating protocols
• Verifying physician orders and collaborating on both pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Utilization and management of healthcare information systems, medication administration programs, and dispensing systems

$2,211 - $2,419/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
