Step into a vital role as a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist, supporting a leading teaching hospital’s dynamic Pediatric and Adult Level I Trauma teams. This 13-week contract offers the opportunity to provide critical care across Pediatric Emergency Department (ED), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and adult ICU settings, where your expertise will make a significant difference.
Schedule:
- 3x12 hour night shifts per week (specific days to be determined during the interview process)
Required Qualifications:
- Active Rhode Island Respiratory Therapist licensure
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Pediatric experience required, with willingness to work in Pediatric ED and PICU
- Previous experience in Level I trauma, both adult and pediatric
- Background working in teaching hospital environments is highly desirable
- ICU and pediatric clinical experience
Responsibilities:
- Deliver respiratory care and life support to patients in pediatric and adult trauma and critical care areas
- Complete assessments, treatments, and documentation according to evidence-based protocols and hospital standards
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and medical residents
- Support teaching activities and participate in interdisciplinary rounds
- Remain adaptable to patient acuity and rapidly changing clinical priorities
