Deliver critical care expertise as a Respiratory Therapist within a leading healthcare environment, providing vital support across pediatric and adult units. This contract role spans 13 weeks and is ideal for professionals eager to work in high-acuity areas and expand their experience in a teaching hospital setting.

Schedule:

  • 3 x 12-hour night shifts per week
  • Specific days to be determined during interview

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Rhode Island Respiratory Therapist license required
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials essential
  • BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with pediatric patients, especially in Pediatric ED and PICU
  • Experience in adult and pediatric Level I trauma environments highly desirable
  • Prior work in ICU and with teaching hospitals strongly preferred
  • Comfortable collaborating in multidisciplinary teams and adapting to dynamic patient needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy to pediatric and adult populations, including trauma and critical care cases
  • Participate actively in care delivered in both Pediatric and Adult Level I trauma settings
  • Monitor patients’ responses and progress, adjusting therapies as needed
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Support the institution’s educational mission through cooperation with medical trainees and students
