Step into an essential clinical role supporting pediatric and adult patients in a Level I trauma and teaching hospital environment. This contract opportunity offers the chance to utilize advanced respiratory care skills over a 13-week assignment, working with a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering care in both Pediatric Emergency Department (ED) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) settings.

Schedule:

  • Three 12-hour night shifts weekly (specific days to be finalized during the interview process)

Key qualifications:

  • Current Rhode Island Respiratory Therapist license required
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS strongly preferred
  • Experience within pediatric care, including Pediatric ICU and ED
  • Familiarity with both adult and pediatric Level I trauma care settings
  • Previous background in ICU and work within teaching hospitals is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and adaptability to guide families through complex care settings

Role responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality ventilatory, airway management, and diagnostic respiratory care to pediatric and adult patients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary providers including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals
  • Participate actively in emergency situations, rapid responses, and code teams
  • Educate families and caregivers regarding respiratory therapies
  • Ensure accurate charting and record-keeping per hospital policy
  • Adapt to the needs of a dynamic, high-acuity hospital environment
