Qualifications:

  • Active RN license required
  • Current CPPS (Certified Professional in Patient Safety) or CPHRM (Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management) certification
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in risk management and/or patient safety within acute care
  • At least one year of experience must be in a California hospital setting
  • Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines, clinical risk assessment, and patient safety best practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate risk management and patient safety strategies for hospital-based care
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to review patient safety events, identify process improvements, and recommend policy changes
  • Analyze incident reports, conduct root cause analyses, and help educate staff on risk identification and mitigation
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local healthcare regulations and standards
  • Report and track risk events, manage investigations, and assist in resolving patient/family concerns
  • Deliver ongoing education and training on safety protocols and risk reduction to clinical teams
