Rather than providing direct care, you’ll serve as a building-level consultant, modeling behavior strategies and supporting staff development.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field
- Active Delaware Department of Education Instructional Paraprofessional Permit required
- Solid understanding of ABA concepts and practical experience applying behavioral principles in educational settings
- Previous work supporting behavioral needs of K-12 students in special education environments strongly preferred
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively, effectively managing multiple priorities across elementary, middle, or high school settings
- Strong interpersonal skills for consultation, training, and parent meetings
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with school psychologists and staff to design, implement, and evaluate behavior intervention strategies for individual students and classrooms
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and use data collection to inform ongoing decisions
- Support and model best practices in behavioral intervention for teachers and paraprofessionals
- Provide crisis intervention support and assistance as needed
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, contributing insight and guidance for individualized planning
