Immerse yourself in a dynamic educational environment as a key behavioral support liaison across a full school year. This contract-based, full-time role (37.5 hours per week) offers the rewarding opportunity to support elementary, middle, or high school students near New Castle, DE. In a position akin to a BCBA assistant or apprentice, you’ll provide building-level support—not direct care—in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field
  • Current Instructional Paraprofessional Permit with the Delaware Department of Education
  • Robust understanding of ABA principles and their application in school settings
  • Previous experience working with students exhibiting challenging behaviors, especially in K-12 special education, strongly preferred
  • Ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and see tasks through in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with school psychologists to design, implement, and evaluate behavioral interventions and strategies
  • Facilitate building-level staff training, consultation, behavioral strategy modeling, and ongoing collaboration
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) rooted in data-driven practices
  • Drive effective data collection and inform team decisions for student support
  • Provide crisis intervention and immediate behavioral support as needed
  • Attend IEP meetings, maintaining clear communication with parents, school psychologists, and supervising BCBAs
