Make a meaningful impact supporting students and school staff as a Behavior Support Specialist in a dynamic educational environment near Newark, DE. This full-time contract opportunity runs the entire school year and offers a diverse and rewarding experience across elementary, middle, or high school settings.

You will serve in a collaborative, consultative capacity, closely partnering with school psychologists and other staff to develop, implement, and monitor effective behavioral interventions. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong ABA foundation who enjoy empowering others and seeing the difference their expertise can make.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field
  • Instructional Paraprofessional Permit through the Delaware Department of Education
  • Solid understanding and application of ABA principles
  • K-12 behavioral support experience, especially with special education populations, preferred
  • Confident working independently, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with school psychologists to plan and monitor behavioral strategies and interventions for students
  • Lead building-level consultation, training, and modeling of behavior techniques to instructional and support staff
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop comprehensive Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Drive data-driven decision making through diligent data collection and analysis
  • Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, including collaboration with parents, psychologists, and BCBAs
  • Provide crisis support and facilitate positive outcomes for students and staff
