Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) in Andover, MN

Exciting contract opportunity for a Developmental Adaptive Physical Education Teacher is available in a supportive middle school setting near Andover, MN. This role spans from early September through late November, providing the chance to make a meaningful difference in students' lives over a focused term. Essential Qualifications:

• Active Minnesota DAPE teaching license is mandatory
• Previous experience teaching Adaptive Physical Education or related areas
• Strong understanding of physical education modifications for developmental needs
• Outstanding communication and organizational skills for collaboration with staff and families
• Ability to develop and implement engaging, individualized lessons for diverse learners
• Dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive environment for all students

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver adaptive physical education programming tailored to students with varying abilities at Northdale and Roosevelt Middle Schools
• Assess student abilities and create individualized lesson plans to support their physical and developmental growth
• Collaborate closely with special education teams and families to ensure a holistic, coordinated approach
• Track student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
• Contribute to an encouraging, safe, and motivating atmosphere in the gym and classroom

This full-time position runs Monday through Friday for 37.5 hours each week, offering the fulfillment of working closely with students and the flexibility of a contract role.
