Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) - Andover, Minnesota

You’ll collaborate as the third teacher in a specialized team, ensuring a balanced and manageable schedule. Schools will be divided among the teachers, reducing the need to travel between sites within a single day, helping you focus on quality interaction with your students. With a consistent 30 hours per week, you’ll have time to create engaging, adaptive programs tailored to diverse learners.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid DAPE (Developmental Adapted Physical Education) License is required
• Experience teaching adaptive physical education or related fields
• Strong understanding of inclusive physical education strategies and individualized instructional planning
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Compassionate, adaptable, and able to inspire students with varying abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver adaptive physical education lessons in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Assess student progress and adjust activities to meet physical and developmental needs
• Communicate regularly with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
• Create a positive, supportive environment that encourages all students to participate and succeed
• Maintain clear records of student attendance, participation, and performance
