This position involves working as one of three DAPE teachers, collaboratively supporting two elementary sites to deliver high-quality adaptive physical education services. Your role will be instrumental in helping students develop critical movement skills, confidence, and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current license or certification in Adaptive Physical Education teaching
  • Experience working with students who have diverse physical, cognitive, and emotional needs
  • Strong knowledge of adaptive physical education strategies, assessments, and individualized program development
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills for working with colleagues, families, and related service providers
  • Ability to manage schedules, documentation, and progress monitoring across multiple settings

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver adaptive physical education instruction across two elementary locations, adapting activities and lessons to meet individualized needs
  • Design, implement, and track progress on student IEP goals related to physical education and motor skills development
  • Consult with classroom teachers, therapists, and other special education staff to integrate supportive strategies and accommodations
  • Foster an inclusive, motivating, and safe environment where students feel empowered to participate
  • Maintain accurate records, contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, and communicate ongoing student progress with families
