Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) in Anoka, MN

This contract position focuses on delivering high-quality, developmentally appropriate physical education services across multiple middle school campuses. Requirements:

• Active Minnesota DAPE (Developmental Adapted Physical Education) license—must be presented for consideration
• Demonstrated experience working in an adaptive or special education setting
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and families
• Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
• Ability to collaborate with teaching teams, therapists, and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Recent professional resume required for application

Responsibilities:

• Plan, modify, and deliver adapted physical education lessons that promote motor skill development and lifelong fitness
• Assess students’ abilities and progress; document modifications and outcomes in compliance with IEPs
• Liaise with families and multidisciplinary teams to support each student’s educational journey
• Foster skill development, participation, and self-esteem across diverse student populations
• Travel between designated campuses as assigned
• Maintain daily attendance, progress notes, and routine communication with stakeholders
